IntelliWidget Content Driven Featured Posts and Menus

Custom Post Types

For maximum flexibility, you can add your own Custom Post Type to your WordPress theme. Important: For IntelliWidget to recognize a custom post type, the post type must support custom-fields (see Post Types in the Wordpres Codex). IntelliWidget can then filter specific post types using the “Post Types” setting.

Change the ‘supports’ parameter in the register_post_type function to include ‘custom-fields’, e.g.,

    'supports' => array(
      'title',
      'editor',
      'excerpt',
      'thumbnail',
      'author',
      'custom-fields',
      'revisions',
    ),

You can create widgets to display anything from Client Testimonials to Upcoming Events that will not show up as regular posts in your regular pages. For example, you can create an “Elements” custom post type to contain re-usable content sections and use IntelliWidgets to display specific content using any of the templates.
